HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- Deputies found a mother and daughter murdered in their home on Kirkleigh Street.
Investigators say Vonda Gideon, 52, and Margaret Gideon, 75, had been dead at least a week.
The women had trauma to their bodies, but were so badly decomposed, investigators couldn't immediately determine what caused their death.
Vonda Gideon was a realtor and popular among neighbors.
"She was really nice," said Jim Weist who lives across the street. "She was actually the one who listed our house."
Detectives are looking for Vonda's brother, 55-year-old Mark Gideon. He was named a "person of interest".
They thought he could be driving Vonda Gideon's Honda pickup that's covered in Remax reality logo. The truck was found Thursday night in the 10900 block of Interstate 10 East.
Deputies say the mother and daughter called 911 last week when Mark Gideon refused to leave.
"There has been a history of violence," said Sgt. Ben Beall of the Harris County Sheriff's Office. "Patrol units were out here twice this month already, and last information we had was that he was basically homeless, and they took him in to try to give him assistance."
A neighbor last saw Mark Gideon driving Vonda's pickup on Wednesday night.
Investigators are asking anyone who knows where he might be to please call the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
