MISSOURI CITY, Texas -- A big alligator was found in a Missouri City pool early Saturday morning.
Jodie Morris went in her backyard to let her dogs out when she noticed something odd in the pool.
She took a closer look and spotted the gator resting at the bottom of the deep end.
After catching her breath and rounding up her dogs, Morris called the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.
Three deputies responded and realized they weren't equipped to handle an aligator so they called Texas Parks and Wildlife.
The local game warden arrived at the Sienna Plantation home and captured the alligator with a catch pole.
It measured 7 feet, 4 inches.
Morris and her children made sure they got a picture with the big fellow in case friends and relatives don't believe their story.
The gator was taken to El Campo and released.
