HOUSTON – Many men were found shopping for Valentine’s Day gifts Friday morning in Houston’s flower row.
The lovers started showing up before the sun rose.
”Gotta get this back home before my wife wakes up,” one man said.
The day will bring big profits for flourists.
Cashier Janie Rude started her day at 7 p.m. Thursday and said her co-workers started way before that.
”I believe they’ve been working for days. The other girl told me that they were here since Tuesday,” said Janie Rude, with Fannin Flowers.
Valentine’s Day is the No. 1 holiday for florist. It’s like Christmas in February for them.
If you are looking for a way to save a few bucks, you can broaden your horizons -- there are other, cheaper flowers besides roses.
