Memorial Hermann Ironman to impact traffic in The Woodlands

HOUSTON --  Ten-thousand spectators and more than 2,000 athletes will fill the downtown area of The Woodlands this weekend for the Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas triathlon.

The event begins early Saturday morning with a 2.4-mile swim in Lake Woodlands, followed by a 112- mile bike course and finishing with a 26.2-mile run.

Several roads in The Woodlands will be closed for the triathlon. Some of the major roads affected include Lake Robbins Drive and Grogans Mill Road, Lake Woodlands Drive at Panther Creek, and Woodlands Parkway Trail at Lake Front Circle.
   
Waterway Avenue will also be closed from Lake Robbins to Waterway court.
