HOUSTON –- A man was injured by a METRO bus late Thursday after police said he tried to jump onto the outside of the vehicle.
It happened on Yellowstone Boulevard at Scott Street in south Houston around 9:45 p.m.
According to METRO Police, the man first jumped on the front of the bus, and the driver told him to get off. The man got off, and the bus started moving again, but the driver didn’t realize the man apparently tried to get on the side of the bus.
Police said the man was either struck or run over, and he was sent to the hospital in serious condition. He was expected to survive, however.
There were several witnesses to the incident, police said.
