HOUSTON – The controversy over LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling has one local youth league considering making some name changes.

The Houston Clippers and the Houston Lady Clippers are leaning towards changing their names.

Coach Andrew Parker said Sterling’s reputation for racism actually goes back to the days when the team was still the San Diego Clippers.

“This is long overdue. long overdue,” said Parker. “Let's give Adam Silver a lot of credit. When he got up and spoke yesterday, I cried.”

Parker said the teams are considering a name change, but it would cost about $30,000 to make that happen.
