LEAGUE CITY, Texas — League City is the 68th safest city in the nation and the seventh safest city in the state according to a report by CQ Press.
The publishing company releases an annual City Crime Rankings reference book, a study of more than 430 cities.
The news comes as no surprise to Mayor Tim Paulissen.
“One of the reasons people choose to live and do business in League City is because it is a safe community. I’m extremely proud of the work our police department does to keep our residents, visitors and property safe, and it’s great to see statistics that support our reputation as one of the area’s safest cities,” said Paulissen.
Police Chief Michael Kramm credits technology and education as a few of the reasons for the city’s low crime rates. “Our police department strives to be proactive and to educate citizens to help prevent crimes before they happen. We also have an outstanding team that uses technology to track crime trends, make best use of our crime fighting resources, and give our officers the information they need to put the criminals behind bars,” said Kramm.
