LA PORTE, Texas – Charges have been filed against a suspect in an attempted sexual assault in La Porte.
Investigators said Johnny Angel Lara showed up at a woman’s home in the 5500 block of Sugar Creek Drive around 6:30 p.m. on April 19, 2012, presenting himself as an employee of a home security service.
The woman said Lara was trying to sell her an alarm system, so she allowed him inside.
But after he made several sexual comments, she asked him to leave. The victim said Lara refused, and instead started touching her inappropriately.
Eventually, she convinced him to leave her home.
Within a matter of days, detectives identified Lara as a suspect and discovered that he was working in the La Porte area for a contract company affiliated with ADT home security systems.
Charges were filed against Lara on May 1, 2012.
