LA MARQUE, Texas — Police are investigating a likely drug deal that went bad that included several gunshots, a possible person who was tied up but escaped, another man injured after he was beaten and a homeowner in custody.
Officers received a call at about 7:15 p.m. Thursday of shots fired at a house in the 300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on the city’s east side.
When police arrived, they found a white Dodge Challenger in the driveway with several bullet holes in it. They also found a man who was bleeding, but not from gunshots but rather appeared to have been beaten, Detective Sgt. Chad Waggoner said. Police also were told that there was a man inside the house who had reportedly been tied up by the homeowner.
