La Marque: Council mulls future of library

LA MARQUE, Texas — As the city council looks for ways to trim a projected $1 million budget shortfall, some elected officials have suggested closing the city’s library.

While the majority doesn’t seem to favor that, it does appear the library will have its budget cut in half.

That is not sitting well with library supporters, including Pat Harvill, a former La Marque teacher who helped raise funds to build the city’s library.
