KATY, Texas – Katy ISD Police issued a Stranger Danger Alert Monday morning as a result of an incident from last week near Wood Creek Junior High School.

According to the alert, a junior high student walking home near Merlin Roost Drive at Silent Flight Lane said she was approached by a suspicious woman driving a white sport utility vehicle around 4 p.m. on Oct 3.

The suspect asked the student repeatedly if she wanted a ride, police said. The suspicious person eventually drove away after being ignored by the student.

The suspicious person is described as a light-skinned Hispanic woman in her late 20s to early 30s, with dark brown hair in a ponytail and wearing sunglasses.

District police were notified about the incident on Saturday.

This is the fourth incident in the Katy ISD in the last three weeks with all of them involve suspects trying to lure children into their vehicles. No one has been hurt in any of the four incidents since Sept. 18.

The district thinks the increased number of incidents may have more to do with awareness and diligence of parents reporting things to them.
