GALVESTON — Judge Christopher Dupuy had a plan to kill his ex-wife, move with his children to New Zealand and open a small coffee shop, the judge’s ex-fiancee testified Wednesday.
Tara Compton talked about the plan and her 5-month relationship with the judge under questioning by an attorney representing Dupuy’s ex-wife during a child custody hearing at the Galveston County Courthouse.
Compton began dating Dupuy in mid-December, and he talked about an engagement as early as New Year’s Eve. Compton testified she sought Dupuy’s guidance as she looked to regain custody of her child, which she claimed to have lost amid the “corruption” in Galveston County.
