HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the cause of an overnight fire that may have been started by a homeowner’s sport utility vehicle.

A neighbor saw the blaze and was credited with waking up the homeowner to get him out safely. No injuries were reported.

The fire was reported on Strathmore Place at Greenhouse around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. The Cy-Fair Fire Department arrived and found heavy flames coming from the front of a two-story home. Firefighters made a fast attack to keep the fire from entirely destroying the home.

Investigators said the fire appeared to have started in the engine bay of a 2000 Ford Expedition SUV that was parked the garage.
