HOUSTON -- The Bayou City’s hip hop community was in the spotlight Tuesday night at Rice University.

The discussion panel included recording artists Archie Lee and Lil' Keke, as well as the founders of the Swishahouse, a Houston-based record label.

Panelists talked about how the hip hop movement started in Houston and how it's grown and changed over the years.

“Being at the age and the point where I’m at right now and to see where hip hop has gone, and just to set a mark in hip hop, and to know I had a part of that, that's a real honor to me,” said Ronald “Og Ron C” Coleman of Swishahouse.

Rice University is also archiving memorabilia from Swishahouse including recordings and master tapes.
