BELLAIRE -- Parents braved the cold Thursday evening in Bellaire in hopes of registering their kids at a well-respected elementary school.
Parents started lining up at Horn Elementary school around 1 p.m Thursday afternoon. The school is located at 4530 Holly Street, near the West Loop.
They were camping out to be first in line to register their children for Pre-K.
"Education is priceless and this is a really good school,” said parent Angela Wainwright. “If you're willing to stand in line for something, this is going to be the thing. My husband and I are both actually taking turns. It's a big deal to us. It’s worth it.”
Sixty-five parents lined up for 40 open Pre-K spots at Horn. Those who did not receive a spot are now on the waiting list.
