HOUSTON—Houston Restaurant Weeks has been extended an extra week through Labor Day Weekend and now ends on Monday, September 3.

What started out 10 years ago as a one week event benefitting the Houston Food Bank is now a month-long dining out opportunity that has been stretched to a fifth week.

Not all restaurants will be joining in the extra week. To see who is still offering prix-fixe deals, visit the website at HoustonRestaurantWeeks.com.

Participating restaurants offer three-course dinners for $35 and two or three course lunches for $20. Five dollars per dinner and three dollars per lunch are donated to the Houston Food Bank. Select restaurants also offer $20 and $35 brunch menus.

HRW hopes to exceed the 2011 donation of $800,000 to the Houston Food Bank.
