HITCHCOCK, Texas — Grief counselors from the Mark Kilroy Foundation were called in Tuesday to assist school counselors to provide grief counseling for students stunned by a rollover during the weekend that killed one classmates, and injured two others.

Elexis Preston, 15, was killed Sunday when she was thrown from the back seat of a Ford Mustang after it crashed in the 3000 block of Interstate 45 in La Marque.

Another girl, 16, sitting in the back seat with Preston, also was ejected from the car as it flipped over. She survived with nonlife threatening injuries. Neither of the girls was wearing a seat belt, crash investigators said.

A third girl sitting in the front seat severely injured her hand in the accident, authorities said.
