HOUSTON—Police are still trying to track down the man who kidnapped a woman from a Whole Foods in west Houston last month.
The mother of three had just pulled up to the store in the 2800 block of Wilcrest Drive when she was ambushed by a man with the gun.
He put his arm around her neck, forced her back into the car and made her drive to an ATM.
"Just basically made her empty out her bank account," said Shavon, a friend who didn’t want to give her last name.
Surveillance video from the Wells Fargo on Westheimer and South Kirkwood shows the victim and the suspect at the ATM.
"He’s grabbing her and telling her, ‘I want more money!’" said Detective Kimberly Miller with HPD’s Westside Robbery Division.
Miller said the suspect made the victim drive around for about an hour.
"He was talking about raping her. He was masturbating at times," Miller said. "He told her to get in the back seat of her car. He had her remove some clothing."
During the drive, the man told her he has a girlfriend and a daughter.
The suspect ordered the victim to stop at the Wesley Square Apartments on Calhoun Road. He seemed familiar with the complex leading police to believe he might live there.
"He walked her into the middle of the apartment complex and put her hands on a wall. At that time, she said she thought he might shoot her," Miller said.
The suspect took off with the victim’s car. She managed to break free and get help.
The woman wasn’t hurt, but she was very shaken.
"She’s fine, she’s coping," Shavon said.
Neighbors at the complex say they have never seen the suspect, but one had a message for him.
"Turn yourself in, please turn yourself in," said the neighbor.
The suspect is in his 20s. He’s about 5’10 and weighs about170 pounds.
Miller has spent countless hours on the case and she hopes someone will recognize the sketch and call them.
