HOUSTON — A motorcycle rider who punched the accelerator a little too hard was hospitalized after crashing into a driver in northwest Harris County Wednesday night, according to deputies.
Witnesses told Harris County Sheriff’s deputies the rider was on a sports bike when he pulled out of a Walmart parking lot around 8:40 p.m., turned eastbound on Little York and punched the throttle, accelerating at a very high speed. At that very moment, a woman was pulling off of Plantation Crest and began crossing Little York, near the 19800 block.
The motorcyclist then slammed into the woman’s driver’s side door and was ejected off the bike, deputies said.
The biker was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
The woman hurt her arm and was transported to Methodist Hospital in stable condition. She said the motorcyclist was coming at her so fast, all she saw was a streak of yellow.
