MAGNOLIA, Texas -- Neighbors in one local community say they've had it with all of the gunfire.

Bullets went flying through trees in Magnolia, said one woman.

Another told KHOU 11 News she’s afraid to take her kids out for a walk or ride her horse.

Both ladies live in the Indigo Lake Estates Subdivision near Magnolia.

Resident Catherine Page said the gunfire started about two years ago and has steadily gotten worse.

The shots are reportedly coming from what they call a gun range outside the subdivision.

KHOU 11 News contacted the owner of the property.

He said he stopped offering classes six months ago after the Montgomery County Attorney told him his property didn’t meet gun range guidelines.

But people who live in the subdivision say the gunfire has not stopped coming from the property. It’s hard to prove where the shots are being fired in the heavily wooded rural area.

Many families worry.

Dani Sellier, a mother, said, “I don’t feel safe having my kids or my animals out there.”

Many of the people in the subdivision moved here for the peace and quiet and the many nature trails that run through the forest.

Page said, “I’m afraid of being in my yard.”

The residents have contacted the County Attorney and asked him to keep an eye on the range. They say they’ll keep fighting until the gunfire stops.
