GALVESTON, Texas — Despite being approved by the school board of trustees, a redistricting plan will be studied by two local organizations before the map is sent to the department of justice next week.
Gulf Coast Interfaith and the local chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens have until Tuesday to identify any major problems with the new map.
Previously, the organizations had requested two weeks to study the map before the board voted on it, but trustees delayed the decision only one week.
