Galveston County officials consider replacing Pelican Island Bridge

GALVESTON, Texas — Galveston County officials are considering a proposal to replace the Pelican Island Bridge.

Legacy Port Partners has pledged $600,000 to get the project moving. It would replace the current bridge that links Galveston and Pelican Island.

The whole project is expected to cost nearly $1.5 million and could take more than a year to complete.
