GALVESTON — Police arrested 18 people and seized marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine during a “knock-and-talk” operation last week, authorities said Tuesday.
Galveston police, along with officers from the University of Texas Medical Branch, the sheriff’s office and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, knocked at 78 homes islandwide after receiving narcotics-related complaints from the public, Galveston police Chief Henry Porretto said.
“We were able to clear 76 investigations,” Porretto said. “We made 18 arrests. Nine were felonies, and we wrote one misdemeanor citation.”
