FRIENDSWOOD — Friendswood’s bond advisory committee made up of city residents will meet Tuesday to discuss the possibility of a bond election.
Forty to 50 residents attended the group’s first meeting last month, said Nick Haby, the city’s spokesperson.
In December, the city council suggested a committee of residents be formed to lead the discussion of what, if any, projects are needed.
City Manager Roger Roecker said there were $27 million of street improvements, drainage projects and building renovations in the city’s five-year capital improvement plan. There were also about $3.5 million of park improvements and acquisitions that could be a part of the bond election. The Friendswood Library board has recommended that the city ask voters to approve a $2 million bond issue to expand and improve the library.
