RICHMOND - When you look at the Richmond Foster Falcons on the field, they look like a regular high school team. A closer look reveals that there’s much more going on here than just softball.

Pink shoelaces, camo - colored caps, wristbands with April 17th on them.

All those accessories are being worn by the Foster softball players to honor their beloved friend Bailey Cooper who was killed two weeks ago in a traffic accident.

They got camo caps because Bailey loved to hunt. They’re wearing those pink shoelaces because pink was Bailey’s favorite color, but Bailey didn’t play softball. She was the captain of the swim team but still, she was friends with all of these girls.

Now, as these young athletes deal with this very tough life lesson, they are preparing for this weekend’s regional semifinals and they say they will play on and keep winning just as Bailey would want them to.

KHOU 11 Sports reporter Matt Musil has their story.
