GALVESTON, Texas — Former Galveston mayoral candidate Greg Roof has filed a lawsuit against the city over paid parking on the seawall.

Reached on his cell phone Saturday night, the former Galveston College regent declined to elaborate on the pending litigation.

The decision to implement paid parking on Seawall Boulevard was approved by voters in 2011, and the new pay-by-phone system made its debut Saturday, July 27.
