SPRING, Texas —Former First Lady Barbara Bush was in Spring Wednesday to celebrate the opening of a public dog park named in her beloved pets’ honor.

The new dog park will be located in Pundt Park at 4129 Spring Creek Drive in Spring.
The park encompasses four acres, approximately one acre of which is set aside for small dogs. There are watering stations and water features mixed among the trails and a dog washing station placed near each gated entrance.
Other features at the park include:
Plenty of trees to provide shade for dogs and owners;
Multiple concrete-floored water features, including fire hydrants with misting spray and shower-style features with larger spray pattern;
  • Separate concrete-floored dog wash areas for bathing/rinsing;
  • Multiple DogiPot stations with biodegradable dog waste bags;
  • Mulch surface throughout to minimize dirty dogs;
  • Crushed granite trails for walking around the parks;
  • Recycled plastic benches – available for public memorial/dedication purposes.
The official name of the new facility is the Bibi and Mini-Me Bush Dog Park at Pundt Park; named after the pets of former President George H.W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush.
Given the opportunity to dedicate this park in honor of a beloved family pet, Mrs. Bush decided that both pets should be recognized.
Bibi Bush, a striking brunette, maltipoo was born on May 26, 2008. A year later, her adopted sister, Mini-Me Bush, entered the world on May 5, 2009. Mini is a petite, white maltipoo with a princess complex. This rambunctious duo keep Former President George H.W. Bush and Former First Lady Barbara Bush young.
Bibi and Mini love playing on the beach, running on the polo fields, reading to children with their mother, and chasing chipmunks. They are also very fond of dog parks.
