Fellow HPD officers honor veteran officer paralyzed in wreck

HOUSTON – A Houston Police Department officer who was paralyzed in a car crash received a standing ovation Friday during a benefit lunch.

 

Fellow officers held the benefit lunch in honor of Officer J.D. Green, a 27-year veteran of the department.

Green was on duty and driving to deliver a warrant last fall when he wrecked.

The accident left him paralyzed from the neck down.
