HOUSTON -- A knock at the door Wednesday evening led to an armed robbery of a Houston family’s home.

Officials said it happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 9100 block of Caddo Road in northeast Houston.

The robbery began with a gentle knock at the door.

Felipe Carmona, 23, answered the door when three gunmen, wearing bandanas and hoodies, kicked their way in. Carmona was at home with his parents, his 4-year-old brother, 8-year-old sister and 14-year-old step brother.

Officials said the suspects ransacked the house. They stole electronics, games, DVDs and jewelry. They also drove off in Carmona family’s yellow Nissan truck.

The family says the truck is missing its tailgate.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the robbery should call Houston police at 713-884-3131.
