HOUSTON -– Police said they were called to an early morning crash Thursday that knocked out electricity on W. Greens Road in north Houston.

The Houston Police Department said it was 2:30 a.m. when officers were called to W. Greens at Donna. They found a car smashed into a wood electrical power line pole.

Investigators said the car’s driver, a man, lost control of his car and spun around before hitting the pole. He was sent to the hospital in stable condition.

Officials said the pole was split in half, and it took rescuers a while to get the man out of the car since they had to wait for power crews to shut off the electricity.
