GALVESTON, Texas — An indicted and suspended county court judge testified Thursday in his custody hearing, denying allegations that he threatened to have a lowlife kill his ex-wife and planned to move with his children to New Zealand.

Judge Christopher Dupuy’s ex-wife, Adrienne Viterna, seeks to gain primary custody of their two children in the hearing that is expected to continue Tuesday.

Dupuy looked composed Thursday as he took the witness stand. He crossed his legs, reclined in his chair, placed his hands on his knees and calmly addressed the criminal allegations against him that include obstruction, retaliation, abuse of official capacity and official oppression.
