HOUSTON -- A woman -- who admitted that she'd been drinking -- slammed into a day care van carrying 11 preschool children Friday morning, according to police.
The van was taking the children, all ages four and 5, to the Eagle Achievers Academy when the woman rear-ended it at a traffic light on West 43rd and Oak Forest Drive in northwest Houston.
When firefighters arrived, the woman said she had been drinking, according to HFD.
All of the children were all taken to Doctor’s Hospital. Some of them suffered minor cuts and bruises.
The van driver was not injured.
Police say the suspected drunk driver was not hurt in the crash, and later passed out in the back of a patrol car.
