HITCHCOCK, Texas— One woman died Thursday and another person was injured in a five-vehicle wreck that forced authorities to block a well-traveled road near the Galveston and Brazoria county line.
A Santa Fe woman, 66, was southbound about 5:20 p.m. in the 11000 block of FM 2004 when her car left the two-lane road in a curve near Kiddo Tacquard Ranch Road, Hitchcock police Chief Clay Kennelly said.
Police withheld the woman’s name until officers could tell her relatives of her death.
She was dressed in a security guard uniform and on her way to work at one of the Chocolate Bayou plants when she lost control and was struck by two northbound automobiles.
