HOUSTON -- A 12-year-old boy who took his mother’s car for a short joyride Friday, with three other younger boys inside, ended up crashing into a neighbor’s yard in northwest Harris County, deputies said.
It happened about 12:30 p.m. on Quiver Lane in northwest Harris County.
Investigators said the boy lost control of the car around a tight curve, and ended up flying over the curb, side swiping a tree and coming to a stop in a neighbor’s front yard neighbor’s front yard at the intersection of Ballardvale and Whitinham.
The airbag in the car deployed, but all of the kids were unharmed.
The four boys got out of the car and tried to escape, but deputies with Harris County Precinct Four caught up with them right away.
It was unclear if the boys would face any legal consequences.
