CLEARVIEW VILLAGE, Texas – A southeast Houston couple is desperately searching for their beloved dog after a devastating burglary.

It happened on Thursday between 4 and 6 p.m.

Rebecca and Michael Stubblefield were told that their home is one of three burglarized in the area on the same day.

The thieves kicked in the back door of their home on Misty Sands Lane. Nearly every room in the home was ransacked.

The Stubblefields estimate that more than $10,000 worth of property was stolen.

“At first, I was in a state of panic. I immediately went through to see what was missing. I was looking for my dog,” said Rebecca Stubblefield.

Their Chihuahua mix Abbie was long-gone.

The Stubblefields aren’t sure if she ran off during the burglary or if the crooks snatched her during the crime.

“That’s really hard,” cried Rebecca Stubblefield. “She’s like my child.”

The burglars stole all sorts of electronics and jewelry. They also got away with the couple’s wedding rings.

“That’s hurtful, and you can’t believe there would be people out there that would be so mean,” said Michael Stubblefield.

Neighbors in the Clearview Village subdivision looked out for each other before this. Now, they’re watching even more closely.

“The whole neighborhood, we’re working class. We work hard for what we have, and we want to protect it,” said neighbor Helen Souris.

The Stubblefields have posted missing dog fliers around the neighborhood. They are offering a reward for anybody who can lead them to their pet.

“I don’t care what you’ve stolen. Just bring her back home. That’s all I want,” added Rebecca Stubblefield.
