GALVESTON, Texas—Two suspects suspected were arrested after breaking into at least five vehicles early Monday, according to the Galveston police.

The Galveston Police Department received a 911 call around 5 a.m. from a citizen informing them of a burglary of a vehicle that was currently in progress in the 4800 block of Ave R & ½.

The caller gave a good description of two suspects and the vehicle they were driving to officers heading to the scene. While responding to the location, officers observed a vehicle closely matching the description provided by the citizen.

The officers stopped the vehicle and observed the occupants matched the description provided to GPD dispatchers.

After a brief investigation, officers found numerous stolen items inside the vehicle, and the suspects allegedly confessed.

Brandon Davis, 21, and Leah Mangold, 24, admitted to burglarizing at least five vehicles early that morning, police said. They were both charged with burglary of a motor vehicle.

The Galveston Police Department and the Galveston Police Department Chief Henry S. Porretto extended thanks to the citizen for getting involved and calling 911 to inform of criminal activity. The arrest of these suspects is directly attributed to the combined effort of the citizens of Galveston and the Galveston Police Department.
