GALVESTON, Texas — A woman screaming during an assault on the seawall caught the attention of a group of bystanders, and one of them stabbed her acquaintance with a knife, authorities said Tuesday.
Galveston police also accused the stabbed acquaintance of trying to escape while under guard at the emergency room, where he remained hospitalized Tuesday afternoon in good condition.
Charges of escape and family violence assault were pending against the stabbed acquaintance, 20, Galveston police Lt. Michael Gray said. The Daily News was not able to determine that the charges had been filed.
