Baytown man taken into custody after standoff with SWAT

BAYTOWN, Texas – A man was taken into custody Sunday evening after a standoff with SWAT in east Harris County, police said.

According to the Baytown Police Department, officers called in SWAT after responding to a family disturbance in the 1300 block of East Fayle Avenue.

Police said that a man had locked himself inside a house and fired a rifle in the back yard. The suspect’s family was able to flee the home before he locked himself inside.

A few hours, the suspect walked out of the home and gave himself up, police said. No one was injured during the standoff.
