BACLIFF — A man convicted of burglarizing a safe containing a toddler’s ashes was sentenced to 11 years in prison, an official said Thursday.

A jury convicted Michael Keith Coslett, 34, on Tuesday and sentenced him to prison Wednesday in connection with the Jan. 22 burglary in the 900 block of Baker Drive.

A witness saw the men suspected in the burglary, and deputies found the small safe and ashes the following day inside Coslett’s home, the sheriff’s office said in January.
