MISSION BEND, Texas -- Officials are asking for the public’s in locating a missing Army veteran who walked away from his group home in Fort Bend County.
Alfred Rogers, 68, walked away from the home located in the 7400 block of Soledad in the Mission Bend subdivision around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office
Rogers’ original home is in the area of 610 Loop and Cullen, and he may be attempting to get back to his home.
Rogers has been diagnosed with dementia but is able to communicate in a normal fashion.
He is described as a black male and is about 5-feet, 6-inches and weighs about 180 pounds. He usually wears reading glasses. He was last seen wearing a red plaid shirt, a green jacket, blue jeans, brown work boots and was carrying a small roller suitcase. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Family members say he is quiet by nature and walks slowly, yet has no difficulty walking.
Rogers did not have any money or identification on him, according to family members. He has high blood pressure, but it is believed that he did not leave with his medication.
Officials say he will most likely answer to Alfred.
Rogers served in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War.
