HOUSTON -- Some residents are unhappy as the city of Conroe is moving ahead with plans to annex 3,300 acres along Highway 105.
That includes the quiet gated community of April Sound.
Conroe has tried to explain the benefits of annexation, but during a meeting at Conroe High School Wednesday night, many said they’re happy with the way things are.
“The real reason cities do this [is] because they want taxes,” said Robert Coats, an April Sound resident. “They won’t just go for April Sound, then they’ll have it where they go all around the lake.”
Conroe plans to annex April Sound in 2014.More public meeting will be held before then.
