HARRIS COUNTY, Texas –- Deputies took three men into custody following an alleged purse snatching and chase south of Cypress late Wednesday.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office were called to a bar and grille on FM 529 at Queenstone Boulevard.

Witnesses said three men grabbed a woman’s purse and tried to leave, but others in the bar held down one of the men until deputies arrived. The other two suspects managed to leave the bar and led deputies on a chase to Fry Road.

Eventually the men ran into a dead end at a bayou and jumped out of their vehicle and ran.

After about a 30 minute search, the men were found hiding and were then taken into custody, deputies said. The suspects were treated at the scene for bites from a K-9 officer.

A couple of the good Samaritans at the bar were also treated for injuries they received in the scuffle.
