GALVESTON — His daughter was lying in a pool of blood, shot in the head and pleading for Bartholomew Granger Sr. to stop shooting. He didn’t.
“I pulled the trigger,” Granger told jurors Monday. “I pulled it again and then I stood up. Then, when I tried to pull it again, there were no bullets.”
“She said, ‘Daddy, please stop. I will tell the truth. I will tell them,’” Granger said, upon taking the stand as the first defense witness called in the capital murder trial that could result in him receiving the death penalty.
