VICTORIA, Texas —Three men were injured Saturday morning in a plane crash at the Victoria Regional Airport.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane left from Victoria Regional, at 10 a.m., and then crashed into a nearby field.
Texas DPS have identified the men as pilot Burl Wilkerson, 58, of Houston, along with passengers Sajib Rupollia, 30, of California, and Daniel Nghien, 50, also from Houston.
Preliminary reports from the FAA suggest the plane began having engine problems, shortly after taking off.
According to a check of the FAA’s website shows the plane is registered to a company in Wyoming.
The FAA said the three passengers on board, were initially taken to Citizens Medical Center in Victoria.
Wilkerson was later transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston and is listed critical condition. Rupollia was transported to a hospital in San Antonio.
Officials with the FAA, the National Transportation Safety Board, and Texas Department of Public Safety are now investigating.
