HARRIS COUNTY – The Harris County Fire Marshal is investigating a two-alarm fire that destroyed an abandoned house in Klein early Sunday.
According to the Klein Fire Department, firefighter responded to a call of a fire at a two-story home in the 17900 block of Saint Emilion Court.
The home, estimated to be about 3,500 square feet, had a “for sale” sign in front and was apparently vacant. It was destroyed.
No one was hurt, but the woman who lives next door uses a wheelchair and had to be carried out.
“I couldn’t get out of the house so there were sparks, ash coming all kind all over so one of the EMS put a shirt over me so I wouldn’t get burned,” the woman said.
No word on what caused the fire.
