HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- Firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire on Tuesday afternoon at Timbers of Cranbrook apartments in northwest Harris County.

The fire happened at 4:03 p.m. at 14000 Ella.

Crews from Little York, Cy Creek, Ponderosa, Klein, and Spring all responded to the blaze. However, the main water system for the apartment complex is a private water system, and it did not produce enough water for the firefighters.

“In the apartment complex, we had several fire plugs but all of them were dead or had little or no water,” said Little York Volunteer Dept. Deputy Chief Don. “We had a hard time trying to establish water to the fire.”

The 16-unit apartment building was destroyed by the fire.

There were no reported injuries.
