Westboro Baptist Church to protest at Rockets-Thunder game

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Members of the Westboro Baptist Church have announced their plans to picket outside the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City where the Rockets will face the Thunder Wednesday night in Game 5 of their playoff series.

The controversial church claims it's demonstrating in response to NBA veteran Jason Collins announcing he is gay.

Members of the church believe homosexuality is an abomination.

The church sent threatening messages to Collins, Thunder forward Kevin Durant and others who have voiced their support for him coming out.
