ST. LOUIS – A Washington, Missouri man was sentenced in court on Tuesday for cooking meth in a daycare where several children were found sleeping.
Christopher Ingram was sentenced to five years of supervised probation in court on Tuesday for producing meth.
Police closed in on the residence in the 1600 block of East 3rd Parkway in Washington to bust up a meth lab, but were surprised to find that the owner was also running an unlicensed daycare business.
During a search, authorities reportedly discovered a woman who had drug paraphernalia in her hand and several children inside Ingram’s home.
Upon further investigation, police found meth and a scale in a make-shift office and chemicals and debris in the basement garage where Ingram had been cooking the meth.
All the rooms where the dangerous chemicals and drugs were kept were unlocked. Furthermore, police said the children could have gotten their hands on the illegal substances and possibly injured.
All parents were contacted and each child was evaluated by a pediatrician.
