PLAQUEMINES PARISH, Louisiana – A man who was trapped with his wife and baby in the attic of their Louisiana home during Hurricane Isaac spoke with a TV station as they sought help.

The phone call to WWLTV was made during an early morning newscast Wednesday after a levee overtopped in Plaquemines Parish, a rural area south of New Orleans.

Gene Oddo, his wife, and his baby went into the attic of their home as the flood waters came up.

One official said around 10 feet of water flooded several homes in the area.

Oddo and his family were later rescued.
