BOISE, Idaho – A picture of a Marine and his wife was getting a lot of hits on social media. The story goes back years when a mission in Afghanistan went terribly wrong.

Jesse Cottle stepped on an explosive device and lost both of his legs. Cottle met his wife Kelly during his recovery.

They were taking family pictures and wanted to go in the water so Jesse took off his legs and let Kelly carry him.

The photographer posted a picture on Facebook and it got a huge response.

The couple was shocked.

“It’s just kind of normal for us. But it's cool because I think we represent a lot of people -- couples that are going through the same thing," Kelly said.

Kelly said it's common for her to carry Jesse on her back in certain situations.

The couple said they wish they could respond to each comment, but there are too many to keep up with.
